Job description

We are seeking a dynamic leader to join our team as the Vice President of Community Experience. This role will be responsible for leading the effort to ensure a high-quality experience for all users of our community business, a first of its kind offering that will connect premium content creators with their fans and audiences for engaging interactions at scale.

Our vision for Raptive’s community business is multifaceted, aiming to:

  • Empower creators with a new platform for audience interaction and monetization.
  • Engage consumers by providing innovative ways to connect with their favorite creators.
  • Offer advertisers an effective channel to reach highly engaged, hyper-targeted audiences.

With a strong starting point of over 5200 creators across diverse industry verticals and with hundreds of millions of monthly visitors to their websites, this role involves strategizing, piloting, building, and scaling the community business to create a significant market impact, aiming to develop it into a massively scaled enterprise.

The VP of Community Experience will oversee programming, customer service, moderation, and other key functions critical to maintaining vibrant, supportive and engaging communities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in online community management and a proven track record of enhancing user experiences in similar settings.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance user experience across the community platform.
  • Oversee all aspects of community programming, customer service, and moderation to ensure a cohesive and high-quality user experience.
  • Define and manage engagement metrics for the community experience, with a focus on user engagement and service quality.
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of community moderators and other community management professionals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the community experience team.
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Actively engage with community members to understand their needs and feedback
  • Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of community programs and initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights and user feedback.

The skills and experience you bring to the job:

  • Proven industry leadership in digital communities, forums, or media, with a track record of developing large-scale, engaged consumer communities.
  • Strong strategic and operational leadership, capable of delivering complex projects.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to internal stakeholders, partners, and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive impact in high-ambiguity environments.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Innovative mindset with a passion for staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Experience in content verticals such as food, home decor, parenting, and travel is a plus.
  • 5+ years of leadership in a scaled organization.
  • 8+ years of experience in digital communities or forums.
  • Experience in a startup or fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment is highly desirable.

The base salary range for this position is $160,000-$260,000. The range provided is Raptive’s reasonable estimate of the annualized base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, geographic location, knowledge, skills and abilities. This role is eligible for additional  incentive compensation that isn’t included in the posted range.
