You can translate business objectives and customer needs into stellar customer experiences, while resolving technical and team challenges with little oversight.  You are capable of moving from exploratory and generative research to rapid iterative evaluation and benchmark testing, across multiple projects. You are extremely organized, able to see the big picture within projects while also keeping the details top of mind. As a member of the UX Research & Insights team, you will be a user advocate and key liaison between customers and internal teams.

  • Design and conduct a variety of user research studies including contextual inquiry, user interviews, focus groups, task analysis, card sorting, expert reviews, design walkthroughs, formative and summative usability tests, and surveys etc.
  • Synthesize research findings into meaningful themes and translate these data-driven insights into actionable product and/or process recommendations, and evangelize those findings through written reports and oral presentations with stakeholders across functions and divisions to support decision making process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all teams are aligned on key customer needs and drive innovations toward key needs and growth opportunities
  • Utilize data and insights to inform future strategies and product plans
  • Support the advancement of the user experience team’s qualitative and quantitative research toolbox by trying out new research techniques and deliverables and staying up to date on industry trends and methodologies to ensure Illumina is using the best-in-class research methodologies and frameworks to innovate
