About this Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Pathology Manager Support to join our Pathology Services team. The Pathology Manager Support will play a crucial role in facilitating efficient communication between pathologists, ensuring the seamless onboarding of new pathologists, and assisting in the management of pathology cases. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with both pathologists and hospital staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective communication with pathologists.
  • Serve as a point of contact for pathologists to address queries and concerns.
  • Ensure that pathologists receive necessary information and updates related to their work.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new pathologists, providing them with the necessary resources, training, and guidance.
  • Monitor the progress of cases assigned to pathologists.
  • Follow up with pathologists to ensure that cases are reported within established turnaround times.
  • Address any obstacles or delays in the reporting process and work to resolve them promptly.
  • Communicate with hospitals to gather updates on cases that pathologists are working on.
  • Follow up on requests from pathologists for additional materials or information from hospitals.
  • Maintain accurate records of communications, case status, and pathologist interactions.
  • Assistance in billing queries.
  • Compilation of validation materials.
  • Liaising with logistics on deliveries.
  • Prepare reports and summaries, as needed, to assist in tracking case progress and department performance.
  • Collaborate with the Pathologist Manager to implement quality control measures and process improvements.
  • Participate in regular departmental meetings to discuss performance metrics and identify areas for enhancement.


About You (Skills and Experience): 

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a life-sciences undergraduate qualification (e.g. biology, microbiology, toxicology, biochemistry, or pharmacology) is desired but not required.
  • Heightened sense of urgency and focus is essential.
  • Proficiency with basic computer programming skills, including basic Microsoft Office applications, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team as well as the ability to manage up
  • Must be self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take ownership
  • Must be effective at time management and personal organization / planning
  • Prior experience in healthcare or pathology services is a plus.
