The Department

 

The Statistical analyses, Stats & Research team develops and maintains a proprietary statistical system called SAE which creates accurate residual values (price estimates) for vehicles based on used car price observation and specifications data. The team also implements it into new countries and data sets. The sub team of Observation data sourcing and quality management takes care of data coverage and data quality.

 

The Role

 

As a Data Scientist you support the team’s overall responsibilities for observation data coverage and quality within the dedicated sub team. In this role, you will improve and maintain rules and configurations for linking various observation data sources against Autovista Group’s proprietary vehicle specification data, as well as participate in developing related processes and workflows utilizing machine learning and other AI technologies.

 

You will also take care of quality management and monitoring of various observation data sources to ensure the data pipelines are transparent and any issues are recognized. You will analyze root causes of observation data issues, and design and prepare solutions for them. You will proactively identify possible improvements to observation data pipelines, and participate in creating and maintaining relevant KPI metrics and dashboards to follow the quality and quantity of the observation data.

 

The Candidate


You have experience on handling large and complex datasets in different formats, as well as experience of data testing & verification and managing of data related changes. You have excellent analytical skills to cut through data quality related issues and hands-on approach to problem solving. Skills in programming languages such as Python / SAS / SQL are essential in this role. Experience on data visualization and data dashboards will be valuable (Tableau skills considered a plus). You have university degree / equivalent in relevant field such as data science, computer science or statistics. You must be fluent in English. Knowledge of Finnish and other European languages is a plus. We are looking for a candidate with good communication and teamwork skills.
