Associate Director for the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) who consults with state government leaders, including cabinet directors, governor office staff, and legislative leaders about research priorities and university lead projects related to state health policy; provides in-depth expertise in knowledge of operations of state health and human services agencies, health care finance, health care workforce development, and health care system operation and transformation; provides in-depth expertise and serves as principal investigator for sponsored projects related to maternity care, infant mortality, children's health, access to primary care, and public health; works with leaders and stakeholders to set goals, define priorities, and carry out short and long term planning processes; directs and oversees policy development and establishment in GRC program areas; collaborates with university departments with the development and implementation of health policy information dissemination strategies; identifies, develops and enhances relationship between GRC and the State of Ohio's Colleges of Medicine, Health and Social Sciences, Health Services Research, and Public Health; facilitates and oversees on-going collaboration among Ohio's colleges; collaborates with the GRC Director in establishing policy direction for the organization; plans, develops, and directs day to day administrative activities and business operations; directs and administers all fiscal and human resource functions at the center level including budget and staffing projections, budget administration, training, performance management and employee relations; works with managers to develop and set priorities around hiring and retention, career development, succession planning, and performance management; reviews and certifies financial plans; develops and negotiates program goals; collaborates in writing and submission of manuscripts and articles for publication and presentation.


Minimum Education Required
Master's degree in health administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; 10 years of leadership and institutional management experience in academia, government, or related nongovernmental organizations required. experience in program planning & administration required; considerable demonstrated success in progressively responsible management capacity including direct experience in supervision; strategic or long-range planning experience preferred; state-specific legislative, policymaking, and stakeholder engagement experience preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Founded in 2008 and housed at The Ohio State University, the GRC is a public university-based center for applied health policy research and technical assistance. The GRC is one of the largest and most successful public university-based health services research centers in the nation, focusing primarily on a partnership with the Ohio Department of Medicaid and other state health and human service agencies. With a budget of $42 million in 2024 and over 200 faculty affiliations with Ohio’s seven medical schools and 13 universities, the GRC provides unbiased, evidence-based applied health services research in support of government health policy decision making. The GRC’s mission is to identify, research and spread innovative practices to improve access to quality health care for all Ohioans through partnerships with health care, state, and academic leaders. GRC’s growing portfolio of work encompasses critical issues and challenges in public health and health services, including maternal and infant mortality, the ongoing opioid crisis, management of chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, health equity and health system payment innovation.
