We are looking for a Senior Java Back-End Engineer who loves to develop real-time, event-driven microservices with cloud-agnostic architecture and batch data processing via Spark. In this role, you will be responsible for developing event-driven microservices while improving the Big Data pipeline's reliability, security, resilience, and performance.

Requirements:

- More than 3 years of experience with web and microservices development with Java with Spring Boot
- At least 2 years of experience with AWS public cloud development
- Experience using relational and non-relational databases and data caching and indexing solutions

Specific knowledge
 - Java (8; 17) with Spring Boot
- Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
- Service testing and contract/integration testing: jUnit; PostMan/NewMan
- Relational and non-relational databases: MySQL/MariaDB; Postgre-SQL; RDS; DynamoDB;
- Message and event hubs: SQS; SNS; RabbitMQ; Kafka
- Use of observability (logging, health check, etc.) enabling and increasing monitoring (DataDog) and system reliability
- Use of continuous integration and delivery tools (Jenkins)
- Use of good design and implementation practices: Design Patterns; SOLID; Clean Code; 12 factors; etc.
- Experience with development in AWS public cloud; Azure; or GCP
 - Use of serverless services (AWS Lambda)

Plus

- Architecture using microservices pattern

    - Previous experience in the Insurance context
    - Experience with development using Quarkus

Responsibilities:
- Implement prioritized functionalities through the use of best engineering practices with consistent functional and technical validations throughout the lifecycle
- Guiding principles such as flexibility, scale and resilience
- Architecture and design standards such as event guidance
- Participate in discussions on the technical evolution of the product
- Support product evolution discussions to inform technical architecture decisions
- Support the definition and implementation of integration of internal and external services with RESTfull HTTP protocols, messaging and event hub
