Position Summary
Meridian's Principal Infrastructure Architect will develop standards, policies, and procedures for Meridian's extended client base supporting their production and enterprise compute infrastructure deployments.  The Principal Infrastructure Architect will align closely with the Sales and Service delivery to help driver and deliver solutions by address new and driving on-going client initiatives. Vendor management and effective communication skills will be critical to the success of this role and ensure we maintain the integrity of the services we are delivering through successful completion of the projects.
 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the solutions direction with an emphasis on design and architecture towards client  hyper-converged infrastructures; 
  • Lead architectural and technical solution services providing technical direction, coordination, service integration and management opportunities;
  • Produce professional diagrams and documentation for compute and operational best practices, standards, policies, and procedures, using Visio and other productivity toolset where applicable;
  • Develop and maintain effective working relations with technology teams, business partners, vendors, internal staff, and other key associates;
  • Perform research and development to ensure an innovative and consistent experience;
  • Review, ongoing and proposed projects, to identify Virtual & Storage/Backup Infrastructure opportunities for reuse or process improvement;
  • Manage or assist in the resolution of complex technical problems, while providing appropriate communications to all involved business partners and related stakeholders;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Data Center and Infrastructure Migration experience;
  • VMWare, Microsoft HyperV virtualization solutions. ESXi, NSX-V to NSX-T Migration experience;
  • Knowledge of Cisco UCS, Dell/EMC, VxRail, HPE and/or converged compute/storage/network solutions;
  • Knowledge of Pure storage, IBM / Redhat, Dell / EMC and NetApp, Nutanix storage; 
  • Commvault and Data Domain Backup De duplication & Compression Experience;
  • Familiar with public cloud integration, design and management (Azure and AWS preferred);
  • Ability to correctly visualize and implement virtual designs and concepts, to define project objectives;
  • Capable of understanding requirements and developing comprehensive incorporating technology, administration, and business processes;
  • Effective communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to effectively problem solve;
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting on premise, off-premises, and hybrid virtualized infrastructure;
  • Ability to work on a team or independently with minimal supervision to achieve project milestones and deadlines;
  • Knows how to escalate appropriately, efficiently, and effectively;
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills;
  • Able to manage a complex project independently, while functioning effectively under time constraints, established deadlines and within budget;
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding and constantly changing environment, while being able to set priorities and balance multiple deadlines;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: able to present information in clear, concise terms to all position levels in the organization, as well as business partners, vendors, and technical staff;
  • Excellent customer service skills, including interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts;
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
Education / Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture;
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or IT-related field;
  • Strong technology consulting skills is preferred. Understand and translate customer business requirements into technical solutions;
  • Knowledge of software or hardware design, selection and deployment techniques and methodologies;
  • Practical Knowledge of the application of architecture design methodologies and frameworks;
  • Knowledge of infrastructure platforms, data management, networking technologies and security frameworks and tools.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
  • Experience with specific enterprise architecture tools and methodologies;
  • Certifications in enterprise architecture, such as TOGAF or ArchiMate.
