About the Role

The Development Coordinator, Donor Services and Stewardship provides exceptional organizational support in the areas of donor services, stewardship, and database administration. This is a bilingual position and is responsible for coordinating and supporting gift processing, donor relationship support and stewardship, and communication activities to ensure successful implementation of Food Banks’ Canada mandate. This position ensures that all donor inquiries are handled in a timely manner and ensures a positive image of Food Banks Canada with its network, stakeholders, and the public.

Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset for all our roles at Food Banks Canada as we support Canadians across the country.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensure the highest level of donor experience by acting as the primary point of contact for donors and supports through contact forms, email, phone, and other programs and processes as required
  • Utilize the CRM to track donor interactions and donor detail
  • Engage with the Development team and other teams within the organization to ensure inquiries make it to the correct people and gather up-to-date accurate information
  • Support the Annual Giving team by providing reports for donor stewardship activities including producing thank you letters, completing thank you calls, etc.
  • Support third-party fundraising platforms and tribute giving with the inclusion of tribute cards
  • Assist with tax receipts when necessary, including duplicates, reissues, consolidated and acknowledgment letters in accordance with the organizational policies and procedures and CRA Guidelines
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and work to implement changes for the Development team as it relates to the CRM and related databases
  • Manage donor information and preferences in the database, including ensuring the ongoing accuracy and hygiene of data and identifying issues and providing solutions
  • Support the Development and Partnerships team through production of lists, queries, and reports with accurate data
  • Assist with training and technical support of all Food Banks Canada employees

What You Will Need

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in development, gift processing, or customer relations
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is required
  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma or equivalent in fundraising management, public relations, or communications. A combination of education, training, and/or work experience will be considered
  • Strong technical skills, with the ability to adapt to and learn new technologies
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is a strong asset

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work. This position is remote and can be based anywhere in Canada.
