How You’ll Make an Impact

The Principal Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst FCC is responsible for defining, implementing and continuously improving policies, processes and procedures that deliver consistent and reliable products and services to business and customers. This role creates, executes and documents the tests necessary to ensure that application and technical environment meets performance requirements and freedom from defects.

The Principal QA Analyst ensures that quality standards are met and adhered to by using their knowledge and quality assurance methods, tools and techniques. The role will resolve, document, and report to management quality problems that arise and assure projects meet quality standards by planning, designing and executing testing and developing procedures relating to product quality within multiple projects or a single complex project.

What You Will Do

Design

  • Creates test plans, data, procedures and manual and/or automated scripts

  • Participates in formal reviews of application designs, business and functional requirements

  • Ensures test coverage of project requirements

  • Designs tests for all systems interfaces

  • Defines impact to other systems interfaces and manages IT change management process

Documentation and development

  • Responsible for test and quality assurance results and metrics on all projects

  • Defines and implements test methodology, standards, procedures, checklists and metrics

  • Develops or extends test automation strategy

  • Ensures test environment reflects business requirements for test execution

  • Consults on developing in-house test tools and harnesses where necessary

  • Participates in the selection of automated test development tools; researches and recommends alternative test tools as necessary

  • Coordinates planning, design and production of deliverables in consideration of the Software Development Lifecycle

Project leadership, tracking, control and reporting

  • Establish project plans for projects in moderate scope

  • Works on multiple projects concurrently

  • Establishes on-time and on-budget project goals

  • Plans and coordinates project schedules and may make project assignments

  • Maintains status of project and monitors activities of team members

  • Understands vision, goals and direction of team/ organization

Testing

  • Executes and writes manual and/or automated test scripts for projects

  • Coordinates test schedules, work and resource plans; manages progress of all test activities against plan

  • Establishes testing entrance and exit criteria, working with the project team

  • Ensures all Test cases both manual and automated are updated in JIRA, and Zephyr Test case management

  • Test planning and Test execution of both Agile and Waterfall processes

What We’re Looking For
  • Post-Secondary Education, or equivalent experience

  • 5 Years of experience in Manual and Automated Quality Assurance

  • 3 Years of industry experience in the Financial Services or Wealth Mangement

  • ISTQB certification would be an asset

The Expertise You Bring
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in scrum/Agile and understands business requirements or user stories

  • Multi-tasker, ability to manage multiple deliverables at once

  • Strong relationship builder - developers, BSAs, SMEs, scrum masters and PMs

  • Experience in Software Development

  • Experience with Broadridge Dataphile
