Job Summary:
Scope of the Role

The Director of Product Management is a key leadership position responsible for defining the vision and strategy for our member applications and clearly communicating these to stakeholders, including the executive team. They will collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality products aligned with customer needs and business objectives, leveraging agile methodologies and data-driven decision-making. Additionally, they will drive resource allocation and prioritization for their team, ensuring the team's initiatives align with broader company goals and have executive support.



A key part of this role is focusing on the team’s professional growth by developing career plans that maximize value for both the individuals and the company, even if those growth opportunities are beyond their immediate team. Finally, the role requires building and maintaining strong relationships across the company to ensure alignment, manage expectations, and minimize risks to project success by building broad support for the team's initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Performance Outcomes 

 

Strategic Leadership and Vision 

  • Define the vision and strategy for our member applications and communicate it clearly to all stakeholders, including the executive team. 

  • Drive prioritization and resourcing for the company, even when that means diverting resources from your team's initiatives. Ensure that your team's progress and outcomes have support and visibility at the executive level. 

 

Product Development and Delivery 

  • Collaborate to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs and business goals, using agile methodologies and data-driven decision making. 

  • Build relationships across the company and keep key stakeholders up to speed with upcoming product plans that may impact their areas. You actively manage these relationships to minimize the potential for surprise or that a project is derailed by last-minute feedback. You build broad support for your team's projects, include stakeholders in key decisions, and make stakeholders an extended part of the team. 

Team Development and Management 

  • Work with members of your team to develop career development plans that not only focus on relevant skills building, but also in identifying a career growth path that maximizes value delivered to those direct reports as well as for the company. This may include identifying opportunities for growth outside of your direct group. 

 

Education, Knowledge, and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in relative field 

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.  

  • 3+ years of successful people management experience, with a passion for team-building 

  • A proven track record of launching and scaling successful products that delight customers and achieve business objectives.  

  • A strong customer focus and empathy, with the ability to conduct user research, analyze feedback, and synthesize insights.  

  • A data-driven mindset, with the ability to define, measure, and optimize key metrics for your product.  

  • Strategic and creative thinking, with the ability to identify new opportunities, generate hypotheses, and validate assumptions.  

  • A collaborative and influential leadership style, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor your team and stakeholders.  

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and convincingly.  

 

FLSA Status 

Exempt. 

 

Physical Requirements/ Work Environment  

Employee must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, with the physical ability to work at the computer or other sedentary tasks for long periods of time. Employee can conduct duties discreetly and impartially. If working remotely, employee is able to work in a space that allows them to effectively complete their job tasks, including having reliable internet connectivity and the ability to participate effectively while on phone and video calls. Employee has regular and predictable attendance and punctuality. Occasional travel may be required, which could be via airplane and/or motor vehicle, depending on location.
