The Job:  

As a Senior Field Compliance Engineer, you’ll be part of our Field Technical Support Team supporting the Tools & Outdoor business. You’ll get to:  

  • Develop a strong understanding of anchoring and fastening methods used in construction (e.g. attachments and supports for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aka MEP systems)
  • Fundamentally understand how such products are used, how they are tested and how they are designed in accordance with construction standards and building codes.
  • Work closely with Field Sales teams, customers, industry organizations and product development teams to identify, define and evaluate product development needs
  • Actively participate and represent company in key industry groups for codes and standards development.
  • Apply technical knowledge to initiate and obtain vital product approvals and certifications.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation and materials to support commercial objectives.
  • Support training initiatives for ongoing education of specified products, systems and services.
  • Provide critical technical support of products to end users,  specifying engineers and internal sales/technical teams.

The Person:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Architectural) or equivalent
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred; certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required
  • 5 years minimum experience in customer technical support specialized in concrete anchoring and fastening products, along with a working knowledge of US Standard Building Codes e.g., IBC, ACI, ASCE, TMS etc
  • Working knowledge in reinforced concrete, pre-stressed, post-tensioned, and/or masonry design preferred
  • Previous experience working in engineering and building construction/fastening industry preferred; construction jobsite experience a plus
  • Periodic travel for meetings and events as required
  • Effective analytical, problem solving and technical skills as well as the ability to multitask. Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or visual form.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and writing, are essential as clear communication is required to effectively deliver objectives as well as interact with industry professionals. Must be able to connect and interface well with a variety of team members in engineering, sales, marketing and product development.
  • Ability to regularly speak to and periodically present effectively before groups (e.g. employees of the organization, industry groups, customers and end users).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF viewers/editors

The base pay range for this position in New York is $95,000 - $120,000 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
