Actuary Intern- Madison, WI Summer 2025

With the actuary internship, you will work with a mentor to learn how actuary plays a vital role in the company’s success, as well as how claims are handled. You will also get opportunities to network by attending diverse social events and meeting leadership in multiple areas.

What You’ll Do

Actuary Interns are given the opportunity to learn the basics of actuarial functions through exposure to a broad range of insurance products and actuarial methodologies in our Madison office. 

Our Actuary Internship offers opportunities to:

• Compile and categorize data
• Complete assignments which pertain to monitoring rate adequacy
• Assist in managing corporate insurance risks
• Perform basic statistical analysis
• Evaluate loss and expense reserves 
• Become familiar with company operations, systems, and actuarial methodologies

What it Takes

To be considered for this position, the following criteria is necessary:

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science
• At least one actuarial exam complete is preferred
• Obtain a minimum in-major GPA of 3.0
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere
• Graduating from December 2025 to May 2027
• Sentry does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, and H-1 Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience
