Today we are hiring 2 Remote Hybrid/ Resource Planning Specialist for our client in Las Vegas, NV. The scheduled work from home days are fixed Office Days - Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Tuesday and Friday you will work from home remotely.| We have 2 Openings available, If interested apply while positions last.

Basic Purpose

Oversees and directs economic analyses of Company's electric systems. Forecasts total system fuel and purchased power costs, unit production, and natural gas and coal requirements used for fuel procurement, regulatory proceedings, and business plan development. Performs research in support of market fundamentals analysis and resolves complex pricing, financial, economic, regulatory or legislative issues. Operates and maintains pricing models used for forward price curve development, asset valuation, and other resource planning activities. Makes pricing and regulatory decisions that impact company policy and revenues.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Conducts research and provides complex and multidisciplinary analysis to support resource planning activities.
  • Presents clear, concise, and accurate reports to consultants, managers, executives, and regulators.
  • Maintains and executes computer models that support major resource decisions and strategies including resource procurement, resource operations, resource retirements and integrated resource plans.
  • Prepares and communicates written summary resource modeling inputs and results.
  • Completes ad-hoc fundamental market analysis in support of resource investment, resource acquisition, and structured commercial transaction opportunities.
  • Participate in meetings and proceedings with stakeholders requiring technical input and the representation of modeling assumptions and analysis.
  • Provides regulatory support on behalf of the Company.
  • Prepares written testimony in support of regulatory filings and provides responses to data requests used to support resource planning activities.
  • Participates as expert witness in regulatory proceedings.
  • Complete industry research and identify major trends to be included in future regulatory filings.
  • Participates in workshops and interprets and explains results of analyses to other team members, management and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinates, mentors, and trains junior Resource Planning staff. Acts in the Directors behalf in the absence of the Manager.
  • Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.


Performs related duties as assigned.

Eligible for 20% Annual Incentive Award Bonus in addition to posted annual salary.

The ideal candidate has eight (8) years experience performing resource planning including production cost modeling for an electric utility (ideally using PLEXOS software) including evaluating results and troubleshooting concerns, making decisions regarding appropriate assumptions and strategy, communicating with others regarding this work, making presentations and testifying before a public utility commission.
