Software Engineer Specialist (Node.js & API Development)

Codeworks is a locally owned and operated IT Services firm in SE Wisconsin, known for our strong commitment to quality and for our direct client relationships.

Our financial services client is looking for an experienced Node and API Software Engineer to join their team on a contract basis, with the potential to convert to full time.

As a senior developer, this individual will be working in Node.js environments for our expanding modernization efforts for several integrated banking modules.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Provide application software development services and technical support across a suite of financial software products.
• Develop program logic for new applications or analyze and modify logic in existing applications
• Code, test, debug, document, implement and maintain software applications
  
  

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

• Multiple years of previous professional work experience with Node.js API frameworks.
• Strong working knowledge of RESTful API services
• Experience in supporting and/or implementing complex integration projects.
• Knowledge of MongoDB, Apache Kafka, and Kubernetes
• Working experience in Agile framework
• In-depth knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Experience in using version control systems like git or Bit Bucket
• Java & Spring framework is a plus
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge
• API security/endpoint protection
• Docker/Kubernetes
• Oracle, MongoDB
• Apache Kafka
• Experience working with cloud-based technologies like AWS.
• Knowledge of the banking industry is a plus
