From generous bonus and 401(k) programs to tuition reimbursement and flexible work schedules, Commonwealth is focused on helping its employees thrive in an environment suited to their needs. On top of all that, the PMO department offers a hybrid work schedule, so you’ll be able to work from home for part of the week!

We’re looking for a sr. project manager to join our ranks. Do you have a track record of successfully completing cross-enterprise business and technology programs and projects? Bring your project management expertise to our PMO team and support the delivery of programs and projects to successfully meet the goals of the organization and your business partners. Working with a project sponsor and/or product manager, you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects, ensuring consistency with the company’s strategy, commitments, and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading projects from initiation through deployment, developing/driving scope definition, effort estimates, and project plans, including risk and issue mitigation
  • Partnering with business stakeholders on identifying and driving business outcomes
  • Building consensus with senior business stakeholders on key decisions, presenting status to executives
  • Facilitating the definition of scope, milestones, goals, and deliverables
  • Developing project plans at the task, milestone, and resource level
  • Collaborating with project sponsors and/or product owners to break the project into proper phases and clearly identify deliverables for each phase
  • Tracking projects against plan—anticipating events that may require a contingency plan, recommending corrective action, and ensuring stakeholders are kept informed
  • Providing management, direction, and support to the project teams
  • Concurrently managing multiple projects

Core Strengths and Skills

  • 5+ years of project management experience, with most recent 3+ years in a hands-on Sr. Project Manager role delivering products and services in the financial services sector

  • Experience working independently, as well as in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Experience working with Agile teams
  • Able to run and facilitate meetings with executives
  • Able to conform to shifting priorities and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Current PMP certification would be strongly preferred
  • Strong, clear communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
  • Experience with business analysis in financial services is a plus
