  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (Full-Time)

  • Rate: £24.00 – £27.00 P/H

Job Description:
The Wheelchair Service in Knowsley is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist to specialise in wheelchair clinical assessments. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed assessments and providing recommendations for wheelchair prescriptions, ensuring optimal postural support and pressure relief for clients, involves working in various settings, including clinics, schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and clients' homes. As this is a face-to-face role, no remote working is available.

What will you be doing in this Physiotherapy role?

The Band 6 Physiotherapist will conduct comprehensive wheelchair assessments for a diverse client base, including those in clinical, educational, and community settings. You will evaluate individual needs to recommend appropriate wheelchair solutions and postural supports, ensuring comfort and safety. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals and involvement in multi-disciplinary teams is crucial to deliver holistic care. Additionally, you will provide education and support to clients and their families, maintain accurate and up-to-date records, and participate in service development activities to enhance the Wheelchair Service.

Requirements:

  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting wheelchair clinical assessments.
  • Previous wheelchair service experience and qualifications in postural and pressure care are beneficial.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check required.
  • Ability to work across various settings including clinics, schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and clients' homes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to engage effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
