The Job in a Nutshell💡

The Hardware QC Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Foodics’ hardware, including tablets and POS solutions. This position offers an opportunity to be deeply involved in testing, troubleshooting, and enhancing hardware performance to meet industry standards and exceed customer expectations.

What Will You Do❓

  • Quality Testing: Conduct thorough testing of tablets and POS devices to identify defects, malfunctions, and inconsistencies in performance.
  • Performance Evaluation: Evaluate hardware performance under simulated operational conditions to assess durability, functionality, and user interface responsiveness.
  • Issue Identification & Resolution: Collaborate with hardware engineers, developers, and cross-functional teams to diagnose and document issues encountered during testing. Ensure clear and detailed bug reports and work towards swift resolution.
  • Improvement Recommendations: Provide feedback and suggestions for enhancing hardware design, functionality, and user experience based on testing results, customer feedback, and industry trends.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, product managers, and the supply chain team to deliver reliable, high-performing hardware that meets current and future business needs.
  • Custom Hardware Solutions: Collaborate with the Product Management team to develop and test custom hardware solutions that integrate seamlessly with our software, delivering a cohesive and superior user experience.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Work closely with the procurement team to evaluate vendors from a technical perspective. This includes securing sample units, conducting comparative analysis of devices, and ensuring they meet Foodics' standards and requirements.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Develop detailed specifications, maintain records of test procedures, results, and findings. Generate regular reports summarizing test outcomes, identified issues, and proposed solutions.
  • Compliance & Reliability Testing: Conduct rigorous testing to ensure product reliability, performance, and compliance with industry standards. Identify and address any issues during testing and hardware selection phases.
  • Field Operations Support: Work with Field Operations on production incidents related to hardware ensuring swift and effective resolution.
  • Hardware Testing Lab Management: Oversee the operations of our hardware testing lab, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and up-to-date.

What Are We Looking For❓

  • 3 - 4 years of experience in a similar role
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with hardware testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry trends and the ability to anticipate future hardware needs.
  • Excellent English language is a must.
