Your missions

The Institute for Strategic Dialogue-US (ISD-US) is a fiercely independent, non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to safeguarding democracy and reversing the rising tide of hate, extremism and disinformation in the United States.

We partner with governments, cities, businesses and communities to turn cutting-edge data and insight into action; trialing and delivering evidence-based solutions across society; and empowering those that can impact positive change at scale. Our research also shapes and informs our education and civic action programs, as well as the training and policy support we provide to central and local governments, frontline practitioners, companies and international organizations.

Why work for ISD?

ISD is not your ordinary think tank. We turn research into action that changes the world. Our insights don't gather dust on shelves - they power the fight to protect democracy and human rights on the front lines. We're committed to delivering real change, from the grassroots to the highest levels of global institutions. And we're looking for passionate individuals who share our commitment to making a difference. Join us and be part of an organization that's making an impact.

ISD's Guiding Principles of  integrity, collaboration, agility and courage  define who we are as a team and an organization. These principles reflect our culture and guide the way we work and the choices we make.

Our benefits

  • Flexible and remote working based on ISD's Time Principles (Trust, Communication, Flexibility).
  • Nearly 40 days of yearly PTO including 20 days paid time off, 11 public holidays, a week of additional paid time off over Christmas, an extended 4th of July holiday closure and Thanksgiving break.
  • Up to 6 weeks paid sick leave and other family-friendly policies.
  • Dedicated mental health counsellors on staff for those working with potentially traumatic content.
  • Inclusive wellbeing program with regular wellbeing initiatives e.g. early finish every Friday, 'Digital Detox' in the month of August, and more.

Salary

$50,000 - $65,000 per annum

Location

We will give preference to candidates who are available to work a hybrid arrangement from our office in Washington, D.C. but are willing to consider fully remote candidates.
