Your missions

Scientist - Drug Substance Development

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the process development of peptides, oligonucleotides, conjugates, and key raw materials essential for PepGen’s platforms.
  • Collaborate with the discovery and analytical development team to develop optimized chromatography processes for purifying target entities.
  • Assist in managing drug substance logistics, including inventory control and coordinating domestic and international shipments of APIs and raw materials.
  • Participate in CMC development projects, working with stakeholders across Analytical, Quality, Preclinical, Toxicology, DMPK, and Pharmacology teams.
  • Support project planning, timelines, and objective setting within the drug substance group, aligning with CMC strategies and program goals.
  • Assist in drug substance development activities, including reviewing process development reports and testing results in collaboration with CMOs.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Chemistry/Biochemistry, or MS with relevant experience.
  • Background in synthetic chemistry and bioconjugates is a plus.
  • Experience with solid-phase peptide synthesis is desirable.
  • Familiarity with cGMP environments is a plus.
  • Analytical skills, particularly in chromatography purification, tangential flow filtration, and diafiltration, are advantageous.
  • Experience with scientific writing and documentation is a plus.
Note 
This is not a remote role. We like to work together and operate in a hybrid model in office Tues, Weds & Thurs each week.

The Scientist, Drug Substance will support the manufacturing and development of PepGen’s Enhanced Delivery Oligonucleotides (EDOs) pipeline. This role involves working closely with PepGen’s CMC team and external CMO/CRO partners to contribute to drug substance process development. The ideal candidate will bring innovative ideas and a collaborative spirit to a fast-paced, growth-oriented biotech company.
