Description

AIM OF THE POSITION:

The Director of Business and Investment Analyst will take ownership of but not limited to analyzing, reporting, and structuring business opportunities related to financing, partnerships, M&A, and corporate strategies. This position will be responsible for; gathering information about financing scenarios, growth, competitors, and market share possibilities; developing proposals and/or reviewing deal structures; reviewing and analyzing financial statements; building models and reports of the aforementioned areas that senior management can leverage to make decisions; and support key areas as the business opportunities move forward. The Director of Business Analyst will also be involved with, and in some cases lead, FP&A and investor relation activities. This position will work with senior management, the finance team, cross functional departments, and external parties as applicable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •   Provide leadership and support across the company’s corporate strategies and opportunities such as financing, partnerships, and M&A activities from initial evaluation through deal execution to post-deal integration activities

o Conduct research, gather information, and analyze; industry, market, and competitive landscape research and competitive analysis 

o Manage and coordinate diligence activities including cross functional level diligence workstreams

o Coordinate with applicable external 3rd parties including but not limited to bankers

o Coordinate with various internal stakeholders including shareholders as applicable

o Provide key metrics, reports, trackability of the activities, and presentations 

  •  Support/Lead financial planning and analysis activities

o Help develop financial operating plan(s) in collaboration with the company’s leadership team

o Conduct variance and forecasting analysis

o Prepare scenario models and analysis

o Identify and track key business KPIs

o Prepare the financial reporting packages reported to the company’s leadership team and Supervisory Board

o Proactively identify issues and opportunities to guide the company’s decision-making process

o Review and analyze internal financial data to identify issues, opportunities and trends including product or service profitability, productivity, and return on investment

o Cash forecasting

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics with a focus on quantitative skills

•  Master’s degree preferred


EXPERIENCE

• Requires a Minimum of 6 to 10 years total experience relevant to this role, including in-house FP&A / M&A experience and possibly strategic consulting, banking, or investment

• Supervisory experience of staff analysts

• Medical Diagnostics or other HealthCare industry experience required

• Public company experience including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

• Investment banking experience preferred 

• Experience with shareholder analytics (ROI) desired

• Experience in cap table analytics desired

• Experience structuring equity deals desired


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA’S)

Specific Knowledge Required:

• Experience having worked on numerous successful M&A transactions from start to finish

• Excellent and proven analytical skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Demonstrated ability to define, analyze, research, and communicate issues

• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, and to prioritize tasks, in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated abilities as a critical and strategic thinker

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel skills, including experience with complex financial spreadsheets

• Ability to work with Company’s Executive management

• Must be a self-starter

• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
