Summary of Job Duties:
The Room Service Ambassador Supervisor is responsible for supervising 5 FTE and 2 PRN’s plus function as a Room Service Ambassador as needed. The Room Service Ambassador Supervisor is a “point person” for patient foods room service model.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma plus two (2) years of specialized training in customer service and/or healthcare service or experience in a food service or patient care setting desirable, preferred 1 year supervisory / lead role
  • Computer/basic keyboard skills, telephone etiquette skills and general knowledge of office machines including printers and copiers.  Must be customer focus driven with excellent verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • This position act as a Supervisor overseeing 4-5 FTE’s.  The position will perform the same duties as a Room Service Ambassador along with supervising and sharing duties with the Assistant Director of Patient Foods Services.
  • The Room Service Ambassador Supervisor will listen to calls assisting as needed and monitor the call queue. Room Service Ambassador Supervisor must have the ability to multi-task due to handling a heavy daily call volume in addition to assisting other operators with questions and be a resource for them, dietitians and clinical staff. Room Service Ambassador Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating daily lunch/break assignments for operators.
  • The Room Service Ambassador Supervisor will perform training for all new call center operators, in addition to training all operators for any update changes/information as it relates to our area.  Responsible to keep managers updated to all employee related issues and changes as it affects the department.  Room Service Ambassador Supervisor will be required to work with all departments across campus as it relates to patient food services.
  • The Room Service Ambassador Supervisor will keep time and attendance records for the call center operators and assist with payroll duties as it relates to the call center operators.  The Room Service Ambassador Supervisor will coordinate and conduct 90 day evaluations as it relates to new hires. 
  • The Room Service Ambassador Supervisor will assist the Assistant Director of Patient Foods Services completing annual evaluations.  The Room Service Ambassador Supervisor will perform all duties of Operator.


Additional Information:

  • Supervision of the Room Service Ambassadors that are responsible for assisting patients with menu selection, and ensuring that patients receive meals and nourishments in accordance with physician prescribed diets, food allergies and preferences.
  • They provide excellent customer service to ensure department quality initiatives and goals are met.  
  • This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
  • The Room Service Ambassador Supervisor works under the general direction and is responsible to the Director of Nutrition Services.
