Summary of Job Duties:
The Manager of the Social Work Program for the Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) First Episode of Psychosis program works under the supervision of the Director of Outpatient Operations to coordinate and implement the NAVIGATE program, a comprehensive early treatment program for people with first-episode psychosis. The role will include coordination and implementation of the clinic’s daily functions in the areas of staff supervision, program policies and procedures, assessment and referrals, and training. This position requires the ability to interact and develop strong positive working relationships with a diverse group of professionals at all levels within the organization, community, industry, and state and federal governments.

This position is located in Northwest AR and will involve services conducted in offices, homes, and with community sources. Some work hours may occur outside of typical work hours.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or related mental health field.
  • Five (5) years of clinical experience in a mental health setting, including 2 years of clinical supervision experience.
  • Current and valid license by Arkansas Professional Board - Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Understanding of mental health issues and disorders, including first-episode psychosis
  • Familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches and interventions for first-episode psychosis.
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise staff, including assigning tasks, providing feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Experience in developing and enforcing program policies and procedures
  • Skill in assessing and referring individuals to appropriate resources, such as mental health professionals and social support systems.
  • Proficiency in training staff members on program procedures, best practices, and professional development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including professionals at all levels within the organization, community, industry, and state and federal governments.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with external organizations and agencies
  • Familiarity with electronic health records systems and other technology tools used in social work practice.
  • Ability to think critically, problem-solve, and make sound decisions in complex situations.

Key Responsibilities:

The Program Manager will perform duties associated with the NAVIGATE program’s Director and Family Clinician roles.

The NAVIGATE Director role includes administrative responsibilities such as hiring team members, securing training, developing and maintenance of working relationships with community agencies and other referral sources, leading weekly team meetings, monitoring program fidelity to the NAVIGATE model as well as state/federal grant program performance indicators, providing required reporting to institutional, state, and federal stakeholders, working with administrative personnel to monitor program budgeting, development and implementation of community education objectives including trainings, conferences, and workshops, and monitoring client outcomes.  
 
The NAVIGATE Director role also includes clinical responsibilities including evaluation of referrals to the program, delivering direct services as needed to individuals and families including diagnostic and admission assessments, family assessments, implementation of the NAVIGATE Family Education Program for clients and their families, monitoring client’s clinical status, and periodic collaborative treatment planning/review meetings with clients and their families.  
 
The Program Manager provides direct supervision to the Clinical Therapist(s), or the Supervisor delegate, mental health paraprofessionals and case management staff, supportive employment and education specialists, peer support specialists, and administrative staff. This position will coordinate team meetings and administrative links between education, research, and physician, psychology, and allied health professionals in the clinic. 
 
The Program Manager will work with PRI & UAMS Compliance to ensure clinical personnel stay in compliance with all state and federal laws. The Program Manager will become a designated “super-user” of the current Electronic Medical Record (EPIC), conduct monthly chart audits, and train and assist all clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation meets all standards of care within the first 6 months in the position. The Program Manager will facilitate leadership activities, assist in the development of new programs, continuously update policies and procedures, and develop and implement training agendas at the program level working with the Medical Director, the PRI Adult Psychiatry and Psychology Division, and other staff. The Program Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, disciplining, and terminating non-faculty clinical staff.
