The Role

We are currently seeking a Category Specialist to join our Category Management & Brand Strategy team on a full time, permanent basis at Erskine Park. You will provide support to the Category Management team in key pricing and portfolio analysis, updates to the sales team as well as other administrative tasks.

You will enjoy a role with variety and challenge as you interact with various parts of our diverse business and will gain exposure to a fast paced, global organisation that can provide great career opportunities and the opportunity to make a difference within the rewarding animal health industry. This role would suit an up and coming Category Specialist with 2-3 years experience, or someone from a sales/marketing background who is looking to transition into the procurement space. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Management of smaller categories including supplier management, pricing and portfolio, and revenue/margin management.
  • Supporting the National Category Manager with analytics relating to pricing, product mix, and portfolio management.
  • Responding to internal queries from our customer service and sales teams regarding products, pricing etc.
  • Supporting category managers with reporting requirements.
  • Following up suppliers and the purchasing team regarding any supply issues, product alternatives etc.
  • Product master data management including creating new product codes, maintenance of existing product codes, barcode fixes etc.
  • Vendor data management relating to purchase order data, freight, new vendor set up etc.
  • Other ad hoc duties as directed by the Category Manager.

About You

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • Demonstrated category management experience within the retail, wholesale, FMCG or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Exposure to a procurement or warehouse environment will be advantageous though not essential.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel and ideally exposure to working with data.
  • Superb attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
