Job Description Summary

This Lead Field Specialist role within Downstream Chemicals Service Delivery organization will provide technical support to our customers focused on delivering Process technologies and optimizing related applications across assigned districts (Northern and Central Plains). In this role, the specialist will be viewed internally and externally as a field subject matter expert in Process related technologies, applications and disciplines including major crude Process units, chemical treatments, and industry specifications.

As a Lead Field Specialist, you are responsible for:

  • Leading Process technical support efforts across existing and new Downstream Refining accounts within Northern and Central Plains Districts to enable flawless execution through involvement in pre-planning, job execution, and post-job analysis

  • Working closely with Service Delivery, Sales and Technology teams to design technical job programs including risk mitigation plans to meet customer’s objectives and maximize revenue potential

  • Providing on-demand support for Process applications in refineries including technical recommendations for new chemical applications.

  • Building trusting relationships and interfacing with key customers at both corporate and field facilities

  • Identifying and collaborating with field team to drive projects, technical and innovative solutions that bring value to our customers

  • Participating and providing technical leadership in industry forums

  • Performing annual technical audits and health checks on all assigned accounts

  • Providing support to Operations, Technology and Manufacturing for process technology portfolio as needed including roll out and application of new technologies in the field

  • Providing technical presentation for customers and field personnel

  • Performing job analysis to understand application hazards & incident potential

  • Working on field incidents related to products/services and participate in incident investigation when required ensuring end to end process

  • Taking on special projects including Product Line specific responsibilities, as assigned

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, (Chemical Engineering preferred)

  • Have a minimum of 10+ years of Downstream refining experience including 5+ years Refining Process applications experience

  • Have a solid understanding of the crude Process units, related chemical and digital technologies and industry standards with 5+ years of field/operations/application support experience

  • Be able to function independently as well as in a team environment

  • Communicate effectively - able to convey complex technical concepts accurately and concisely to all individuals of all levels of experience both in a written and oral format

  • Be available to travel up to 50% of the time

  • Develop and provide technical mentorship to others

  • Be available on call outside of normal business hours

  • Be able to lead, plan, coordinate and deliver projects and programs successfully

The annual pay scale for this position is between $86,600.00 - $186,200.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes’ good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position.
