Job Summary: 

We are currently looking to add to our team with an exciting opportunity as the Supervisor Premium Payables. As a premium payable supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring carrier payments are timely and accurate. This role requires a strong understanding of insurance industry practices, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent leadership skills. 

Job Location:

This position is available for hybrid applicants in our Grand Rapids, MI, or Fairfield, NJ, offices or for remote applicants, with a preference for a hybrid work structure.

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and manage the carrier payable operations, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks related to carrier invoices and payments.  

  • Oversee carrier payable regional platform team. 

  • Oversee the development and enhancements of the carrier payables process through streamlining tasks and improving efficiency.  

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with agency partners and carrier partners, addressing inquiries and resolving payment discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.  

  • Stay up-to-date and in compliance with industry regulations and best practices. Implementing and maintaining carrier payables policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines.  

  • Oversees special projects and initiatives as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.  

Qualifications: 

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to supervise and motivate a team.  

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to analyze complex financial data.  

  • Shows initiative to complete work without the prompting of others. 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with agency partners, carrier partners and internal stakeholders.  

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment 

  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.  

 

Education/Experience: 

  • 3 years of experience in carrier payable, accounts payable, or a similar role preferred 

  • Excellent knowledge of carrier invoicing processes, agency management systems, and insurance billing practices.  

  • Must have experience working cash application or accounts receivable functions 

  • Familiarity with insurance agency management systems and processes helpful 

  • Proficient in using agency management system software and Microsoft office applications. 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred)
