ATI is seeking a Director/Managing Director to join our State Program and Policy team. The ideal candidate is experienced in client delivery, business development and is eager to build our state portfolio of work; has deep policy and programmatic Medicaid and Medicare expertise and a focus on programs serving dual eligible individuals and long-term services and supports (LTSS); can manage teams focused on integrated care programs for dual eligible individuals and aging programs; and has working experience within or closely alongside a state Medicaid or other health agency.

Description

The Director/Managing Director is accountable for new business growth and client retention, and oversees all advisory services within their portfolio. In addition to developing and executing on a business development strategy, the Director/Managing Director will manage a team of Directors, Sr. Analysts and Analysts in serving clients within the State Program and Policy Practice with a focus on programs and policies serving individuals dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid and individuals receiving LTSS.

The Director/Managing Director is accountable to the Practice Director for key performance indicators that are designed to ensure business growth, staff productivity, excellent client service, and mission orientated team culture.

Responsibilities                                                           

  • Managing and growing a portfolio of advisory services and business relationships together with a team of experts and analysts who deliver substantive guidance, expertise, research, and consulting to clients.
  • Driving excellence in product and engagement delivery, building and maintaining the ATI brand and reputation for quality, skill, knowledge, and insights including holding their staff accountable for service quality.
  • Building and maintaining strategic relationships with policymakers and key partners.
  • Supporting the State practice’s growth strategy, identifying and pursuing business development opportunities including marketing, RFP response strategy and writing, relationship building, law analysis, and relationship building with partners.
  • Demonstrating thought leadership externally to share valuable insights and perspectives.
  • Serving as a positive leader within the firm and the State practice, building, developing, and managing a team of Directors, Senior Analysts, Analysts, and Associates.
  • Supporting company business policies and processes including updates to our CRM, ensuring accurate and on-time time reporting, managing to budgets, adherence to project management processes and tools, and adhering to brand guidelines and quality standards.
  • Ensuring appropriate management and allocation of staff resources including monitoring team productivity, managing allocation of resources across projects and clients, and working to ensure collaboration across practices.
  • Serving as an Executive Sponsor or Project Lead on client engagements, including setting project direction, ensuring project teams are executing appropriately against project and client expectations, and being accountable for final and high-quality client deliverables.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, with strong preference for experience working in or closely with a state in a policy or program design leadership role. 
  • Business development acumen, with the ability to develop and execute on a growth strategy that includes retaining existing portfolio clients, identifying new opportunities, and establish new clients and workstreams. 
  • Deep subject matter expertise in dual eligible and LTSS program and policy design including an understanding of program models across states and considerations at the federal, state, and plan levels. 
  • Strong consulting aptitude, including the ability to lead a dynamic portfolio of projects and clients, apply critical, strategic thinking and knowledge across broad range of Medicare and Medicaid topics, and ensure client services excellence. 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) appropriate to different audiences and stakeholders, including strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with executive level clients.
