Overview:

Join the dynamic team at PACE Supply's Waterworks Division as we seek a talented Meter Specialist! This remote position covers the diverse region of Northern California.

 

As a Meter Specialist, your primary role is to drive the adoption of AMI/AMR solutions among water utilities and relevant organizations. This entails formulating and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue objectives, identifying prospective clients, conducting product demonstrations, and negotiating contracts. Collaborating with technical teams is integral to ensure that proposed solutions align with clients' needs. Staying abreast of industry trends, competitors, and regulatory shifts is vital for effectively positioning AMI/AMR offerings in the market and facilitating sales growth while nurturing enduring client relationships within the utility sector.

Responsibilities:
  • Gain comprehensive insight into the water utilities sector, encompassing challenges confronting utility companies, regulatory mandates, and metering/data management trends. Spearhead the acquisition of new accounts, retention of existing ones, and identification of fresh customer prospects.
  • Cultivate robust relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within targeted organizations. Forge trust, credibility, and rapport to facilitate successful sales negotiations.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the company's AMI/AMR solutions, including technical specifications, features, benefits, and competitive advantages. Articulate the value proposition cogently to potential customers.
  • Engage in contract negotiations encompassing terms, pricing, service levels, and implementation timelines. Address objections, assuage concerns, and strive to finalize deals, thereby meeting sales targets and revenue objectives.
  • Foster seamless collaboration with internal teams, including sales, project management, and customer support, to ensure accurate quoting, smooth project implementation, solution delivery, and post-sales follow-up.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required; BS/BA Degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in AMI/AMR solution sales, with a demonstrated track record of partnering effectively with municipalities and water companies within the waterworks industry.
  • Proven experience in sales within the utility sector or related industries, preferably with a focus on metering solutions.
  • Strong understanding of AMI/AMR technologies and their applications within water utilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies, driving revenue growth.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Technical Proficiencies:

 

  • Regularly conduct sales calls to maintain client engagement.
  • Manage customer pricing effectively.
  • Conduct prospecting and cold calling activities.
  • Stay updated on market pricing and prevailing conditions.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with clients.
  • Employ problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
  • Possess basic proficiency in computer skills, including Office 365 suite, and adeptness with cell phones.
  • Navigate necessary software programs such as PACE ERP and Phocas as required.
