THE ROLE

The VP, Innovation will spearhead the strategy, development and execution of our innovation strategy;  driving new product development, enhancing existing products, and identifying market trends to ensure that OLIPOP remains at the forefront of the soda industry. This role will be crucial in shaping the future direction of our product offerings and ensuring alignment with market demands and consumer preferences.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive innovation strategy aligned with the company’s vision and goals. Identify key market trends and opportunities for product development and differentiation.
  • Product Development: Bring to life the strategy and processed of product development from start to finish, from ideation and concept testing to formulation and commercialization. Oversee the creation of product prototypes, conduct consumer testing, and manage the launch of new products.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Marketing, R&D, Production, and Sales teams to ensure seamless integration of innovation initiatives. Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation across departments.
  • Market Research: Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to inform innovation strategies. Utilize consumer insights and feedback to guide product development and refine existing products.
  • Trend Analysis: Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive activities. Identify opportunities for incorporating new technologies and practices into the company’s product offerings through long-term planning and strategy building.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the innovation budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to high-impact projects. Monitor expenditures and provide regular financial reports.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing innovation team. Provide mentorship, set objectives, and drive performance to achieve strategic goals. Promote a culture of creativity and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership and executive leadership across innovation strategies and project updates to inform on future programs. Build relationships with external partners, suppliers, and industry experts to enhance innovation efforts.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure all new products and processes comply with industry regulations, quality standards, and company policies. Address any issues related to product safety, quality, or regulatory compliance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience (12+ years) in strategic innovation, with a track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing principles, brand management, digital marketing, and market analysis.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and strategic thinking skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Depth of experience in CPG and the retail environment with proven success in collaborating with sales to expand distribution, product portfolio and relationships with key customers.
  • Proficiency in marketing software and tools (POS, panel data, CRM, analytics platforms, etc.).

COMPENSATION:

$220,000-$230,000 base salary + bonus
