Summary Of Role & Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated expert in regenerative agriculture who possesses a depth of relationships across the food and agriculture sector and demonstrates a proven track record in guiding pivotal strategies to transform our food system's relationship with nature. As opportunity to contribute to leadership within our Nature Solutions advisory business, this role will focus on equipping and empowering clients within the agriculture, apparel, beverage, finance, food, textile and retail sectors across the Americas with the advisory support to align business objectives with planetary boundaries and strengthen the resilience of enterprises and ecosystems alike.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned systems thinker who is passionate about creating resilient and profitable businesses by redesigning agricultural value chains to make them regenerative. The role will involve leading a team of impact-oriented experts on soil health and food systems to guide and deliver regenerative agriculture engagements; proactively engage in business development; and contribute to a growing community of practice in developing materials and managing knowledge to maximize the quality and impact of our service offerings to transform where and how food, fiber, and fuel are grown into a force for accelerating a nature positive future. This role reports to the Nature Lead, Americas.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a go-to-market strategy and business plan to strengthen and refine regenerative agriculture offerings
  • Lead cross-functional team and direct reports in driving and directly contributing to the development of materials, templates, processes, and tools for proactive pursuit of client engagements within regenerative agriculture
  • Develop credible, trusted relationships with senior client project contacts
  • Guide sales process on complex, significant opportunities at key accounts, scoping the work and technical approach to deliver
  • Support the development of proposals demonstrating an understanding of the client's business and offer tailored scopes of work to achieve their goals and priorities for regenerative agriculture and promote cross-selling of other nature offerings

Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Provide technical expertise on Regenerative Agriculture to project and client managers regarding questions related to soil health, biodiversity, water stewardship, climate impacts, and other impacts as relevant.
  • Partner with and help clients measure and integrate nature's value into purchasing and investment decisions
  • Maximize the quality and impact of our advice to transform our clients' relationships with nature by contributing to the continuous improvement of our service offerings
  • Ensure consistency and excellence in the Anthesis approach in the regenerative agriculture field
  • Shape the development of tailored solutions to transform our food system's relationship with nature, developing novel solutions across the entire agri-food value chain
  • Actively contribute to the evolution of Anthesis Group's nature offerings by developing or improving tools and systems to provide increased value to clients and create greater efficiencies and scaling of service offerings to contribute towards Anthesis Group's commercial and corporate nature goals

Client Delivery:

  • Contribute to multiple client projects including significant engagements for key accounts, ensuring the quality in the delivery of your expertise in projects as well as providing technical & quality control in developing scopes of work
  • Guide and contribute to the delivery of nature and biodiversity client engagements through exceptional project management; skillful analysis of client documentation, identification of gaps and recommendations for improvement opportunities; expert synthesis of research findings into key themes and actionable insights
  • Prepare and provide quality assurance for client deliverables, such as written reports, presentations, or spreadsheet models; and lead client meetings and workshops
  • Deliver tasks on time and within budget and assist project managers to ensure that projects perform against targets and deadlines

Developing & Strengthening Team:

  • Mentor and coach consultants in Regenerative Agriculture service and foster global collaboration
  • Conduct market research and actively contribute thought leadership to position Anthesis Group at the cutting-edge of the Nature field
  • Create knowledge material & templates and deliver related trainings to clients and colleagues

Key Requirements & Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Keen grasp of the commercial and technical requirements of the position, from a consulting or in-house partnerships and/or business development role.
  • Demonstrated experience of partnering with leading companies and financial institutions to help us expand and strengthen our regenerative agriculture offerings.
  • Clear demonstration of trusted relationships across the agri-food sector is vital in this role and capacity for relentless focus on best serving client needs.
  • Bachelor's degree, and ideally a Master's degree, in agriculture and/or ecology related subject areas (e.g., agriculture, environmental science, ecology, nature resources, etc.) .
  • Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience, with a focus on agriculture and food systems transformation. Strong preference for prior experience in professional services and consulting fields or business development/partnerships management.
  • Industry-relevant connections, with a network of potential clients, collaborators or other relevant stakeholders.
  • Proven capacity for providing senior level subject matter expertise on land use and regenerative production methods, including but not limited to: soil health, integrated pest management, water stewardship, biodiversity, working lands role in landscape restoration, agronomy, farm-level assessments, annual and perennial cropping systems, soil carbon accounting, carbon sequestration, biogenic carbon emissions, land use change, deforestation, watershed management, water impact assessment, and agroforestry.
  • Possess strong working knowledge of most common guidelines, frameworks and for a for accelerating regenerative agriculture and sustainable food systems, including but not limited to: Regen10, OP2B, SAI Platform, Cool Farm Alliance, Field to Market, WBCSD, CANZA, SBTN, SBTi, VCI, AFI, GHGP, and more.
  • Demonstrated ability to work at and navigate all levels of an organization, driving decisions and direction through influence, including senior executives.
  • Ability to take an adaptive management approach to the dynamic, fast-moving sustainability environment.
  • Ability to work individually and collaboratively within teams on a global basis.
  • Experience leading and/or coordinating business development initiatives.
  • Highly organized with strong program management skills, interpersonal skills, and a professional presence with the ability to quickly establish personal credibility and demonstrate expertise.
