Position Summary
Fusion Global Academy College and Career Readiness Seminar Mentor Teachers are licensed School Counselors or former Higher Ed Professionals who provide student support for post-secondary options including college, gap year, technical programs, and career planning through teaching a for credit junior and senior seminar elective course in our 1:1 model.
This position will begin as part - time, 20 hours per week and can transition to a full -time role.
Essential Responsibilities Include
- Provide a one-to-one teaching experience to students in their junior and senior seminar courses through 25 50-minute session terms following a robust curriculum.
- Show evidence of adapting and differentiated instruction for all students and a classroom forum for holistic growth.
- Advising students on all aspects of the college admissions process, including test preparation plans, personal statement and essays, Common App process and financial planning.
- Navigate and utilize college and career readiness tools like SCOIR, YouScience to identify student aptitudes, interests, abilities and link them to their future goals; read, analyze, and interpret transcripts, GPA's, and other academic records to make recommendations
- Writing well-crafted and detailed recommendation letters, submit school reports, registration and accommodations for standardized testing.
- Collaborating and communicating with colleges and universities to ensure admission requirements have been met.
- Maintain complete and accurate records.
- Contribute to and benefit from the campus community.
- Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection and continuous improvement.
- In addition to subject matter tutoring and teaching, this position includes significant student mentoring.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications And Certifications
3 years of experience in Post Secondary Counseling, College and Career Readiness, Educational Consulting, or Higher Ed and Admissions Counseling.
Advanced Degree (MA, MS, MEd, or higher) in School Counseling, Educational Psychology, or related field.

Fusion PSC's must have comprehensive knowledge of the college admissions process and experience guiding students through the complex college search and admissions process.
Candidates will have knowledge of alternative post secondary options such as vocational, apprenticeships, or gap year programs and be able to support students in preparing for the workforce or finding internship opportunities.
Candidates needs to have an innate passion for nurturing and support adolescents.
Experience with Neurodivergent Students with Learning Disabilities is a plus.
