Job Overview

APTIM is an industry leader in the performance of geophysical surveys to include Advanced Geophysical Classification (AGC) primarily as associated with the Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP). APTIM is fully accredited for the collection of AGC data for the Department of Defense and is looking for geophysicists looking to grow their career with us. APTIM currently has a career-growth opportunity for a Geophysicist to support geophysical data acquisition, data processing, reporting, and quality control for project locations throughout the United States. Work location is flexible and can be at an APTIM office location or remote. Typical tasks may include data processing and analysis, data acquisition, in-field processing, and report preparation. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary, including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Perform as the Geophysicist/Geoscientist on projects and proposals; provide input on survey design and scope development.
• Acquire field data utilizing various geophysical sensors including Metal-Mapper, APEX, UltraTEM, EM61, GPR and Magnetometers.
• Experience with integration of geophysical sensors with positioning control systems including RTK GPS and SLAM.
• Assist with Site Logistics such as establishing field office and storage locations, test locations, and routes to work areas.
• Equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and testing.
• Data processing and Quality Assurance utilizing Oasis Montaj UX-Analysis Module.
• Ensure conformance to applicable codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.
• Applies education, knowledge, and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
• Perform all assigned tasks in strict accordance with APTIM Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Frequently support projects that require overnight travel of variable duration.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Geophysics or related field with minimum 5-10 years' of directly relevant experience.
• Experience in AGC data acquisition and familiarity with data processing software (e.g., Oasis Montaj) required.
• Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record required.
• Possess or have ability to readily obtain OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in all types of terrain and weather, including wearing of proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sites.
• Amenable to frequent travel, including weekends, to meet project deadlines.
