Job description

WEA is seeking to appoint co-opted Board Committee members who have worked nationally in England or Scotland with recognised qualifications or experience in Finance and Capital Resources.

This volunteer role as a co-opted Board Committee member will make a tangible difference by bringing specialised expertise to WEA's strategic planning and decision-making processes, ensuring effective financial management, organisational development, and alignment with educational policies. Through your dedicated contributions, you will help strengthen WEA's ability to deliver accessible and high-quality education, ultimately empowering individuals across England and Scotland to reach their full potential.

Demonstrate a strong passion and commitment to the Association, its strategic objectives, and charitable aims. Good, independent judgment. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team Strong interpersonal skills, networking and relationship-building abilities, and demonstrable experience of partnership working. Understanding and acceptance of the responsibilities of committee membership. Ability to commit the time required for the role, including for any training. Commitment to equal opportunities and the promotion of equality, inclusion and diversity. Willingness to undertake a DBS disclosure and eligibility checks in accordance with DfE requirements and the Charity Commission as part of WEA’s recruitment policy.
