Position Responsibilities

As a DBA Engineer on the Software Engineering and DevOps Automation team, you will be responsible for automating the deployment and configuration of Oracle and SQL Server databases. This includes writing infrastructure provisioning and automated configuration code using Terraform and Ansible. You will also act as a developer DBA, working on large enterprise deployments, leveraging advanced features in both Oracle and SQL Server, and have experience working in public cloud environments. Additionally, you will provide support to ensure the databases are running efficiently (non-production) and resolve any issues that arise.

• • Utilize cloud-native services and tools to enhance database performance and reliability.
  • Implement disaster recovery and backup solutions for databases in the cloud.
• Advanced Database Features:
• Leverage advanced features of Oracle and SQL Server to optimize database performance and capabilities.
• Implement and manage advanced configurations such as clustering, replication, partitioning, and indexing.
• Developer DBA Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with software developers to design and optimize database schemas and queries.
• Write and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and other database code.
• Assist in the design of database architecture for new applications and enhancements.
• Ensure database code adheres to best practices for performance, security, and maintainability.
• Support Responsibilities:
• Provide support for Oracle and SQL Server databases, including troubleshooting and resolving issues for Engineering team.
• Respond to and resolve database-related incidents and service requests (on behalf of Engineering team)
• Ensure database security and compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
• Collaboration and Coordination:
• Work closely with software developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure successful database deployments.
• Participate in design and code reviews to maintain high standards of quality and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
• Documentation and Process Improvement:
• Document database configurations, deployment processes, and automation scripts.
• Continuously improve automation scripts, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to ensure the team utilizes the most effective solutions.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a DBA Engineer with experience in DevOps, automation, and database management.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning (preferred).
• Strong experience with Ansible for automated configuration management.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle and SQL Server, including advanced features like clustering, replication, partitioning, and indexing.
• Experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and OCI.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools relevant to database environments.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar.
