Make Your Mark:

The Director, FP&A will play a key role in the financial planning and analysis process such as developing a forecast model, designing a consistent reporting process with functional leaders, and managing the analysis of budgets and financial trends.

You'll Get To:

  • Manage and direct the annual planning and budgeting process.
  • Responsible for the transformation of management reporting and analytics; provide functional leaders with departmental profitability.
  • Create, manage, and maintain monthly/quarterly reports for management and the Board of Directors which will include key metrics, leading indicators and updates the performance of the business.
  • Build constructive and effective relationships with functional leaders in the organization.
  • Ensure timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Identify areas of financial risk and opportunity.
  • Manage, mentor, and oversee the existing FP&A team members.
  • Oversee all bookings and revenue financial planning and analysis activities including financial and statistical reporting, preparation and management of all bookings/revenue analysis and financial forecasts. Ensure bookings/revenue projections are consistent with the Company's strategic plan, and short and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the build and maintenance of complex, cross-functional analyses and models to drive financial planning.
  • Oversee the management and reporting of Corporate KPIs (including bookings, revenue, billings, retention rate, customers, users, free cash flows).
  • Oversee the build and maintenance of cash flow forecasting model.
  • Drive insights through cross-functional partnerships across the organization.
  • Through data led analysis, provide insight to optimize long-term revenue growth and support related strategic initiatives (both ad hoc analytics and on-going reporting/infrastructure).
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to oversee, report and provide insight into Sales and Marketing KPIs.
  • Partner with International operations to provide financial analysis, management reports and business insights.
  • Manage FP&A systems and processes (including Adaptive Insights) and seek opportunities to add value to business performance.
  • Provide assistance with Board presentations and Investor Relations activities as required
  • Collaborate with peers in Accounting & Finance and other teams at BlackLine to drive efficiencies.


What You'll Bring:

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information: one on one, small groups, executive management, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning and forecasting, financial accounting concepts, risk and controls standards and business process best practices
  • Must be comfortable working in a high pace environment, be able to multi-task and have a hands-on attitude
  • Must be able to excel in a flexible, fast pace work environment and meet deadlines
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills required
  • Strong writing and analytical skills, high level attention to detail
  • Experience in process improvement and cycle time reduction without compromising quality
  • Strong leadership skills and proven track record of recruiting and developing talent
  • Experience with Adaptive Planning, NetSuite, Zuora, Salesforce and other SaaS based tools a plus
  • 10 - 15+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
  • Must have experience working with publicly traded companies, preferably technology companies
  • BA/BS degree in accounting or finance required
  • CPA/CFA certification and graduate degree preferred

Salary Range:

USD $151,000.00 - USD $201,000.00

Pay Transparency Statement:

Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
