Field Engineer - Slovenia

UL’s Field Engineering team works on-site with our customers to ensure that all certified products continue to comply with UL's requirements. We partner with customers to help them meet their changing needs.

Our team located in Slovenia is looking for a new colleague for a Field Engineer position who will support us and our clients by performing safety and non-safety inspections and audits in dedicated area.

Responsibilities

• Performs safety and non-safety certification inspections and field evaluations in accordance with the required performance standards and requirements.
• Uses technical judgment to determine whether noncompliance variations compromise the continued application of the UL Mark.
• Interprets, analyzes and evaluates examination and test results, verifying the accuracy of manufacturers measuring equipment and reviewing production and inspection records.
• Periodically reviews manufacturers programs of production, inspection, and shipping to ensure products are produced and marked in compliance with UL requirements.
• Investigates the misuse of UL Mark.
• Provides general information on policies and procedures for the varied UL services along with promoting and explaining the benefits of new and existing services.
• Uses instruments to perform inspections, such as micrometers, voltmeters, ammeters, and other UL supplied equipment.
• Resolves process, management system and possibly engineering issues associated with Variation Notices.
• Understands and applies HBSE (Hazardous Based Safety Engineering) principles and concept correctly when necessary.

Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma or College degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or other related Engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in performing safety and non-safety certification inspections/audits and/or field evaluations. We are happy to consider more experienced candidates as well as Graduates with 1-2 years of experience (we provide a training program).
• Fluency in Slovenian language and a very good level of English language (must have). Knowledge of Croatian language would be an advantage.
• Ability to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
• Professional attitude and strong customer focus.
• Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
• Driving license.
• Availability to travel around 50-75% (we provide a company car).
