Bringing your knowledge and expertise will ensure Relationships Scotland Borders continues to ensure the safety of all the families using our much needed support services. You will ensure we get our services right for everyone, as well as being part of the wider strategic oversight for us.

What will you be doing?

Relationships Scotland Borders are seeking volunteer Trustees to join our Board to oversee the charity’s governance, compliance and planning. As an independent charity, we offer accessible support to families across the Scottish Borders. To support our important work, we need to recruit new trustees to the Board. Having reviewed the skills of our current Board, we are particularly interested in receiving applications from people with strong skills and professional experience in the following areas Chair of Trustees Safeguarding & Risk Management Fundraising Service design/development/evaluation Charity governance Becoming a Trustee with RSB offers a chance to make a real difference to the lives of families across the Scottish Borders who are facing relationship breakdown, but it will also offer you opportunities to meet new people, take on new challenges and volunteer in an interesting and strategic role. RSB recognise that the role of a Trustee is a responsible position and that you may require training and support to conduct your role to the best of your ability. We therefore offer Trustees an induction, ongoing training and opportunities for mentoring from other Trustees. Successful candidate(s) will demonstrate A commitment to support families and individual facing family and/or relationship breakdown A willingness and ability to devote the necessary time and effort Good, independent judgement and an ability to think creatively An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship An ability to work effectively as a member of a team The Board meets four times a year (remotely) and some additional support will be required for any sub-committees (no more than 2 hours a month). Trustee positions are unremunerated, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. As all meetings are held virtually, there is no requirement for you to be based on the Scottish Borders.
