Your missions

Trustee role to help support and grow our community.

What difference will you make?

Sheffield Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus encourages our members to get the most out of life. You will have the opportunity to support people to access life changing equipment, build independence, create amazing friendships and celebrate our achievements.

What are we looking for?

We would love to grow our supportive community. To do this we require enthusiastic trustees with a background of business development to ensure our charity moving forward and reaching as many people as possible. Fundraising and bid writing skills help ensure that our charities work can continue.

What will you be doing?

Sheffield Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SHASBAH) are looking to recruit new trustees to be part of our lovely community. Trustees work with staff to ensure our supporting organisation can continue and build. At SHASBAH we support people with Spina Bifida and or Hydrocephalus in all Sheffield postcodes. We help by offering small grants, advice and signposting, social gatherings and events and a range of support groups. Trustees become part of our welcoming team that runs some exciting projects. In this role you would be contributing to supporting the welfare of our members and their families. As a trustee we would require a couple of hours a month to join our meetings which are nearly always online (though you would always be welcome at all of our events too.) An understanding of living with disabilities and our members would be great. Enthusiasm and the ability to work collaboratively are needed to expand our community. Business, legal or financial expertise are vital to grow our small charity and the support we offer.
