Your missions

What You'll Do

Avalara is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer who will help us to deevlop and maintain automations for Tax Filing system.

You'll be expected to deliver high quality process automations and practice industry best practices.

You will join a team of seasoned engineers responsible for delivering solutions in an Agile environment.

Job Duties

  • Develop and Implement Automation Solutions:
    • Design, develop, test and implement Automations solutions using Python, Robot Framework or our in house developed Studio tool.
    • Create and maintain efficient and scalable automation workflows to automate business processes.
    • Be a key participant in creating a Quality First, Zero Defects culture and promote Shift Left approach.
    • Active contribution across all phases of the SDLC (planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment and support)

  • Process Analysis and Optimization:
    • Collaborate with business and stakeholders to identify and analyze business processes suitable for Automation.
    • Conduct process assessments and document detailed requirements for automation solutions.

  • Maintenance and Support:
    • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for deployed automation solutions.
    • Monitor the performance of solutions and implement necessary updates and improvements.

  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, platform engineering, business units and product management.
    • Communicate the issues, risks, dependencies to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
What You'll Need to be Successful

  • Skills and Experience:
    • Proven experience in designing and implementing process automation solutions.
    • Strong understanding of automation architecture, infrastructure and deployment methodologies.
    • Proficiency in API & programming languages such as C#, Python & Robot framework.
    • Ability to analyse complex business processes and identify opportunities for Automation.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
    • Proficient in writing automation test cases for Business and Technical scenarios.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Education and Certification:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Good knowledge on AWS Cloud, CI/CD Pipeline is a plus.
