DUTIES:

Responsible for developing end-to-end software applications on both front-end and back-end components and on both client-side and server-side development tasks to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Design, develop, and maintain web applications on enterprise-wide systems across the data, application, and presentation tiers using Java, Spring Boot, JPA and PostgreSQL. Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality software applications that meet user needs. Collaborate with teams of infrastructure engineers and application and product teams to enable RESTful data exchanges between products and systems using APIs in the AWS technical landscape. Design database schemas and write optimized queries and stored procedures to retrieve data and maintain database performance. Implement back-end microservices using Spring Cloud Netflix Eureka for service registration and discovery and implement API gateway using Spring Cloud Gateway for routing and security. Integrate Apache Kafka for asynchronous messaging and event-driven architecture. Develop front-end UI using Angular, Bootstrap and CSS frameworks.  Write unit tests and perform integration testing using Junit, Mockito, Jasmine, and Karma frameworks. Set up CI/CD pipelines for the project using Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Docker. Utilize Drools Rule Engine to implement business rules and decision automation. Ensure application security by implementing authentication and authorization using Spring Security.  Schedule peer review sessions with other developers to optimize the application functionality and coding standards.  Stay updated with latest industry trends, technologies, and best development practices in microservice architecture and cloud-native development. Position is eligible for 100% remote work.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

Position requires Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Systems Security, or a closely related technological field plus 3 years of post-bachelor’s experience working with Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate or JPA; querying using SQL and PostgreSQL; designing RESTful APIs for client-server communication; designing and building Microservices using any of following: Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Netflix, or Golang; implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms for back-end applications using Spring Security; code versioning and collaboration in GIT; working with Apache Kafka to perform the following tasks: optimizing configurations for performance and resource efficiency; monitoring cluster health, performance, and availability; and troubleshooting and resolving Kafka-related issues promptly; of which 2 years must include UI development with HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks (Angular or React); working with Spring Cloud Netflix Eureka and API Gateway; CI/CD process using Jenkins or Cloudbees; production support including knowledge in log monitoring tools including Splunk or New Relic; and working with Agile project methodologies, including promoting iterative development; of which 1 year includes working with Drools Engine for implementing business validations. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. Remote work option of up to 100%.
