The Senior Manager – Buyer Global Procurement Capability Center in Bengaluru will be responsible for implementation and leadership of a new team within the newly formed Capability Center to enable delivery of Global Procurement responsibilities at Regeneron.  The role will be responsible for leading a team of professionals focused on handling the procurement workflow process for the requisitions of goods, supplies, and services within assigned business units and/or category of spend.

In this role typical day might include performing the following:

  • Accountable for leadership of a team of Buyers as part of the Global Procurement Operations team in support of Global Procurement and business requestors/partners

  • Development of standard methodologies and processes for the PR/PO workflows within Global Procurement

  • Demonstrates knowledge of efficient global procurement organizations to support the growth and evolution of the Global Procurement organization and leverages this knowledge to drive improvements within Regeneron, aligned with corporate priorities.

  • Proactively determines objectives/needs of purchase requisitions (PRs) and ensures required documentation is incorporated in the PR, which may include, competitive bid exception (CBE), quotes, Approved Supplier List(ASL) waivers if applicable, New Supplier Request Forms, etc. 

  • Supervises Buyer’s adherence to contract policy – when a PO requires a contract, the buyer; (i) Checks if an active contract exists, (ii) references MSA or SOW/contract number, (iii) creates the PO and forwards workflow approval to the responsible Sourcing team owner when a contract is missing/expired and requires authorization.

  • Sr Manager will be able to backup any Buyer on their team’s PO activity if vital.

  • Assures Buyer’s creation of accurate PO line-item structure, supplier entity, currency, remittance, and adds contract numbers & notes to guide proper tax exemption and delivery instruction if needed.

  • Handle pricing discrepancies for invoice resolution with Accounts Payable to ensure timely and accurate closure of on-hold invoices.  Bring ups to Sourcing team and Business Requestor for any contract related resolution, e.g., wrong entity, wrong currency.

  • Annually handles/supports the blanket purchase order creation process by analyzing spend at year-end, reviews existing blankets, and works with customers & sourcing team to initiate new blanket purchase orders.

  • Advises & informs requestors on the appropriate and compliant use of catalogue.

  • Advises and applies the use of P-cards to complete an order for an approved PR when appropriate.  Approves monthly team P-card expenses in Concur.

  • Proactively reviews new supplier requests from iPro requestors and liaises with Sourcing Specialist/Sourcing Managers to seek use of existing/managed suppliers if applicable.

  • Provides leadership in setting global group goals/objectives for the team

  • Able to prioritize and manage workload across Buyers ensuring optimal allocation of resources

  • Provides coaching and guidance on job performance and career development to direct reports and provides leadership example for the organization.

  • Coaches proficiency on procurement technical skills among global procurement team.

  • Experience leading associate level professionals in a multi-national firm including writing performance reviews, setting annual objectives, coaching, and developing direct reports.

  • Solid understanding with Procurement tools, ERP’s, and eRFx systems preferred. (Oracle, Zycus, Other)

  • Ability to demonstrate standard business applications for communicating, presenting and analyzing (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Satisfactorily completes all required trainings and certifications according to established SOP’s.

  • Supports the requisition to invoice process as required.  This may include, but not limited to, responding to audit information requests, participating in compliance reviews, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities working collaboratively with the sourcing team.

  • Participate in and/or submit at least one, or more continuous improvement ideas per year.

  • Support inquiries to advise and educate customers regarding the sourcing process and seek to identify system/process enhancements.
