Job description

California Law Program Specialist

100% Remote within California, Must reside in California

We are seeking a Program Specialist to join FoundationCCC in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. Together, we are building stronger communities by getting students and colleges the resources they need to succeed and expanding pathways to economic and social mobility across California. Join us as we continue this important work to uphold the value of community colleges in building a brighter future.

What You’ll Do

The California LAW Pathways (Cal LAW)  is a statewide partnership pathway that begins at the high school professional academy level and continues through community college, 4-year undergrad university and into law school. The organization was created in 2014 to address the underrepresentation and lack of diversity in the legal profession and justice system in the State of California. At present, Cal LAW partners with 23 high schools, 35 community colleges, 16 undergrad universities and 16 American Bar Association accredited law schools spread throughout California.

The Program Specialist is responsible for providing a wide range of administrative and program support for the California LAW Pathways, a fiscally sponsored program of the Foundation for California Community Colleges. The Program Specialist works closely with the Executive Director to support program implementation and collaboration between Cal LAW and program Partner schools, students, donors, and potential donors and supporters. The Program Specialist is also responsible for meeting and event coordination, including working with vendors and overseeing set-up, execution, and post event wrap up, as well as supporting Cal LAW’s fundraising and development efforts.

  • Coordinates regular meetings and provides special event management

  • Provides other general administrative and program support to Cal LAW staff and advisory board members including, but not limited to the following:

    • Proofreading, formatting and updating documents

    • Processing invoices from vendors, preparing expense reports and managing office supply purchases for  staff

    • Compiling, filing and distributing information to the appropriate parties

  • Works closely with the Executive Director to support program implementation and collaboration between Cal LAW and program Partner schools, students, donors, and potential donors and supporters.
