About the right team member

We are looking for a talented, hard-working team player with a minimum of six years of relevant experience to join our legal team and support Mindbody + ClassPass around the world. This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of exciting and challenging matters in a fast-paced and collaborative environment where you can really make a difference. In this role, you will have broad commercial responsibilities and will help all aspects of the business. You will identify and advise on legal risks, business strategies, draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, review marketing materials, research the regulatory landscape, provide general support for business transactions and general operations, and the legal team.

About the role
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar
  • At least 6 years of relevant legal experience. In-house experience a plus, ideally in the technology industry
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • Experience in leading contract negotiations
  • Ability to drive cross-functional projects
  • Strong business acumen and practical approach to legal challenges
  • Experience advising clients and managing projects on deadlines with minimal  supervision
  • Experience collaborating with business teams and other members of the legal team (regulatory, product, privacy, etc.) to ensure business needs are met
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex legal points and concepts to a diverse array of internal stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications and technologies and associated legal issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong proofreading skills
  • Ability to juggle many competing priorities and to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Excels at working independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and take on matters outside your primary practice areas
Skills & experience
  • Provide legal and strategic business advice to help develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to the commercial aspects of our products and programs
  • Draft and negotiate contracts
  • Interpret contract requirements, obligations and risk exposure and advise on same
  • Educate business partners on key commercial, legal, corporate policy and other considerations
  • Facilitate the timely closure of business transactions while minimizing risk exposure
  • Review marketing materials and provide guidance on product requirements
  • Identify and mitigate risks and liabilities
  • Advise business teams in a variety of domestic and international locations
  • Provide legal support for other departments and initiatives as required
  • All other duties as identified
