Job Role
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for P&L, balance sheet and all Finance and Controlling, safeguarding, procurement related areas for AZ Services Mauritius. This includes ensuring the overall profitability, financial planning and target setting, management of risks, management reporting, accountable for ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and is responsible for the financial safeguarding of Allianz Services' assets. Leads the team, act as a Business Partner in all finance and safeguarding matters by developing and executing the finance and pricing strategy for Mauritius, in support of the overall business priorities in line with the global procedures. In addition the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for managing in a matrix all key functions - including Controlling (i.e. legal, risk, compliance) in alignment and under according guidance from function holder in AZ Technology headquarters in Munich (lead responsibility is with the respective function in HQ in Munich).


What You Will Do

  • Provide leadership and manage the Finance and Controlling, Contract Management, Risk Management, Procurement, Legal, Data Privacy & Compliance team. Drive the day-to-day financial operations within AZ Services Mauritius, such as Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Billing, Pricing and Controlling. Responsible for Accounting (statutory, IFRS), Tax (VAT, CIT, withholding tax) and treasury in AZ Services Mauritius. Root cause analysis of revenue, operating costs and EBIT variances to plan and projections
  • Managing all closing relevant processes and ensure proper cash management
  • Responsible for reporting to local authorities (Tax Office, Statistical Office, National Bank, etc) and to the Headquarter
  • Providers' relationship management for services pertaining to tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary. Representation of the entity in front of external stakeholder (e.g. auditors, authorities)
  • Manage the financial planning as well as pricing and support the Planning Dialogue (process) of Allianz Service and also contribute to Strategic Dialogue.
  • Manage profitability of AZ Services Mauritius by taking relevant means; together with Operational Excellence functions ensure internal productivity gains are being realized and provide insightful information and expectations to senior managers to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
  • Implement framework for price calculations for global products and services (e.g. rate cards) and take accountability for compliance with AZ Group rules and external regulations. Establish guidelines, governance for financial decision
  • Set framework and standards for AZ Services Mauritius internal charges (e.g. internal overhead allocation)

 

What You Bring

  • 10+ years’ leadership experience gained in the financial domain of a customer-driven international financial service organization is a must
  • Experience in a leadership role with the ability to energize diverse and inclusive teams as well as to connect the different stakeholder and customers within Allianz Group
  • Solid knowledge of local statutory requirements, Transfer Pricing rules and International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”)
  • Strong affinity with finance systems and processes, and a track-record of driving complex global finance process improvements
  • Competence in change management and able to translate necessary changes into operational and tactical plans and prepared to be “hands-on“ in the operations when required
  • Able to think in end-to-end processes, beyond the boundaries of the own department and able to drive efficiency and quality improvements in the company’s processes

 

What You Have

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, and/or Controlling
  • Excellent analytical skills, influencing skills, initiative, assertiveness, and decisiveness
  • Good networking and relationship building skills to be applied both within the Finance Community of Allianz Group
  • Spoken and written fluency in English is crucial
