Summary:      

The Milwaukee Bucks Communications Seasonal Assistant is a part-time, hybrid (remote/in-person) position that will assist the Bucks Communications Department in their day-to-day responsibilities throughout the 2024-25 season. The individual for this role is an experienced college student attending school in the Milwaukee area with a communications, public relations, journalism or similar major and has a strong interest in gaining experience with a professional sports team. The Bucks Communications Seasonal Assistant will work approximately 15-25 hours per week (including nights and weekends) between game nights at Fiserv Forum, remote work and working in the office.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Send daily clips email of Bucks, Fiserv Forum and Deer District media coverage to the company each morning (Monday-Friday)
  • Compile daily stats document each morning and send to select Bucks staff and broadcasters (every day)
  • Assist on game nights at Fiserv Forum by:
    • Printing and labeling media seats
    • Distributing credentials and meal vouchers to media at the media gate
    • Attending pregame and postgame press conferences
    • Running in-game stats to team benches and broadcasters
  • Further non-gameday daily responsibilities to vary, but can be expected to include:
    • Cision media monitoring
    • Press release writing
    • Assistance on in-season publications
    • Assistance at press conferences and media events
    • Administrative tasks for the department

Qualifications:

  • Junior or senior attending college in the Milwaukee area pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or similar field
  • Available to work most Bucks home games, work remotely and work in an office setting
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to listen to and quickly, efficiently follow directions
  • Be a welcoming and friendly representative of the Communications Department when dealing with media and broadcasters
  • Knowledge of the NBA and an understanding of the public relations and media relationship in the sports industry is preferred
