Apply as a Senior Ambulatory Pharmacy Technician, to join a centralized team that directly works with our clinics and providers to improve access to patient’s medications and decrease the workload of the clinic staff. We are an inter-professional team that works with doctors, MA’s, and pharmacies. You will collaborate with the clinics and providers to process prescription refill requests. The training expectation for this role is 2 weeks, Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM. After training is completed you will be Per Diem, to cover for PTO requests sick call outs, etc.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position performs a variety of support functions, under the supervision of clinical pharmacists, to contribute to the overall improvement of healthcare quality as well as efficient use of resources. Primary responsibilities include processing prescription renewal requests received electronically in the electronic health record, via fax, or phone call; data management and pre-screening to support pharmacist disease state management services, including patient outreach to enroll patients in the service; and patient outreach to assist with closing quality measure care gaps. Other support functions include data gathering and entry, electronic document filing, electronic faxing, and use of the EHR. Additional responsibilities may include outreach to physician offices.

3. Responds to standard requests from internal and/or external customers. Interacts primarily with department personnel, cross-department personnel, internal and/or external customers, patients and physicians.
4. Uses discretion to prioritize assigned tasks and duties based on changes in workflow or other immediate situations. Uses independent decision making based on technical knowledge and department standards.
5. Position may require performing clerical or administrative duties that do not require a pharmacist technician license, on a full time or part time basis as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires pharmacy technician licensure in the state of practice (where applicable).
Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
Must have two or more years of ambulatory pharmacy experience (retail/community or managed care) or demonstrate knowledge of ambulatory pharmacy. Must possess good organizational, problem solving and computer skills. Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. Moderate experience, typically gained through 2-4 years relevant work experience OR 12–18 months in an educational program.
Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly Microsoft applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a technical certificate program
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification
Strong analytical, creative problem solving, and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
