The Lead SEO Specialist at NerdWallet UK will lead the organic user acquisition strategy. This role involves developing a deep understanding of consumer needs, identifying new growth opportunities, and prioritising initiatives to drive site engagement and rank. The position requires close collaboration with product, content, PR, and engineering to execute innovative acquisition plans. You will align the cross-functional teams and make data-driven decisions to drive measurable growth in organic traffic and user engagement significantly impacting NerdWallet UK’s revenue growth, market presence, and overall performance.

The ideal candidate for this role will be biased to action and able to quickly make decisions to drive execution with little oversight. Data-driven and analytical, you are skilled at turning data points into actionable insights, prioritising speed over perfection. You use structured thinking to generate action plans, and to align stakeholders. You are able to identify and prioritise strategic initiatives and are eager to “think big” about attracting consumers to NerdWallet. Lastly, you are motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy balancing numerous priorities and projects.

This role will report to the General Manager of the UK.

Where you can make an impact: 
  • Define and implement a robust organic user acquisition strategy focused on SEO and content optimization
  • Prioritise top opportunities and align efforts across product, content, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of growth initiatives
  • Conduct market research to uncover new traffic growth opportunities that align with the product roadmap
  • Communicate and promote high-impact acquisition plans across different audience channels
  • Design and implement rapid testing frameworks to improve site engagement and membership conversion
  • Utilise analytics tools to generate business insights and inform strategy
  • Forecast audience growth and identify trends and opportunities for driving incremental revenue
  • Own the organic user acquisition top-line for the UK, ensuring accountability for key metrics and effectively communicating strategic initiatives and actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Provide regular performance reports and updates to senior management
  • Enhance the user journey by addressing consumer pain points through data-driven analysis
  • Implement UX improvements to increase engagement and conversion rates
  • Implement innovative SEO strategies to maintain and enhance search engine rankings
Your experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in SEO
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering business outcomes or products that move the needle on company metrics
  • Experience building strong cross-functional partnerships as a thought leader within an organisation
  • Experience building content roadmaps for Editorial Content teams
  • Experience with analysing consumer needs and pain points specific to the UK market, split testing to create a user-first experience
  • Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Experience working in financial services or equivalent knowledge of personal finance
