Position : Head of Finance 

Work Hours (Client) : M-F, 9am-5pm PST timezone 

Holidays : US Holidays       

Pay Range : $1500 - $2000/month (depending on interview assessment and client's approval) Please take note that pay will be given in USD

Duties and Responsibilities:

The role of Head of Finance and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) represents a pivotal position within the client's business, embodying a fusion of financial stewardship, strategic leadership, and regulatory compliance. This essay provides a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities and requirements associated with this multifaceted role.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the financial reporting for the organization. This includes monthly financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, 
  • Financial plans and all statutory financial reporting
  • Providing sound financial support and insights to enable the ELT to make critical business decisions
  • Presentation of financial results and insights to the Executive Team
  • Play a key role in the formulation of the business's strategy
  • Managing and overseeing the taxation affairs of the organization and liaising with the external tax firm for specialist advice
  • Managing and overseeing the cash flow of the company and ensuring it has the appropriate controls
  • Managing and overseeing the company's banking and borrowing arrangements
  • Managing and overseeing the company’s financial systems
  • Investment appraisal and analysis
  • Presenting results to non-finance people to understand
  • Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Financial and Management Accounting functions.
  • Risk Management to ensure the business has a solid risk framework in place
  • Advising and implementing best practice methods to increase revenue and reduce costs
  • Managing and tracking budget and accounting information including billing, collections, and tax information

Candidates with an understanding of marketing or direct response marketing experience would be ideal. Calculating customer lifetime value, AOV, or CAC will be a part of the role.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
  • Candidate with MSc/MBA or relevant certification (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience and proven work experience as a Head of Finance, Director of Finance or similar role.
  • Candidates must have experience in US Taxes.
  • In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models.
  • Proficiency in accounting software like Quick books or other relevant accounting tools.
  • Excellent English Communication Skills
  • Solid analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Leadership abilities.
  • Must be confident, passionate, and very willing to work to grow the company through this role.
