Job description

The Senior DevOps Engineer plays a critical role in leading the setup, deployment, and optimization of NGDATA’s SaaS solutions, with a focus on Apache NiFi and cloud environments. This role is vital for ensuring successful implementation and integration of technologies, enhancing client satisfaction, and driving high-quality service delivery. The position directly contributes to the organization’s goal of delivering personalized, data-driven experiences through effective cloud and data management.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Main responsibilities

Lead the setup and deployment of SaaS solutions, ensuring alignment with client needs
Design, configure, and optimize data flows using Apache NiFi
Manage cloud-based infrastructure and services across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and integrate software components
Engage with clients to provide technical guidance and address implementation issues
Create and maintain documentation for system configurations and best practices
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities

Additional / occasional tasks

Participate in client meetings and provide technical insights
Conduct training sessions or workshops for clients on system usage and best practices

Leadership Workload

This position involves approximately 20% leadership tasks, including mentoring junior team members and leading implementation projects, with the remaining 80% focused on technical tasks.

Competence Profile

Background / Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

Experience / Skill Requirements

Minimum of 5 years in DevOps roles with experience in SaaS implementations and cloud solutions
Extensive experience with Apache NiFi for data flow design and management
Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
