Job Title: Remote Chief Financial Officer (100% Work From Home)


Location: Remote from Latin America


Position Type: Full-time


Salary: $4,000 USD/month


Schedule: Typically Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST, however, possible calls and work outside of this to accommodate the larger team in Asia

Responsibilities:

  • SEC Reporting:
  • Prepare and review quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) SEC filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A.
  • Ensure compliance with all SEC reporting requirements, including XBRL tagging.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to manage the annual audit process and quarterly reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all SEC filings and supporting schedules.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial data through the implementation and maintenance of robust internal controls.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal control procedures to ensure SOX compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate financial reporting risks and work with management to enhance the control environment.
  • Monitor changes in SEC regulations, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards, ensuring the company remains compliant.
  • Technical Accounting & Policy Development:
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, and other critical areas.
  • Develop and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with GAAP.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including legal, investor relations, and operations, to support the financial reporting process.
  • Strategic Financial Support:
  • Support the CEO/Director of Finance in strategic initiatives, including M&A, capital raising, and other corporate finance activities.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by senior management and the board of directors.


Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • License: CPA or equivalent
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in SEC reporting.
  • Experience in a public company, preferably in a small-cap environment, is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
  • Leadership Skills:
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of accounting professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
