About the Position:

MSH seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Workforce Planning to join our team. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing the global strategy for operational workforce plans and providing advice on annual financial planning and headcount management. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze the workforce, identify skills gaps, and implement initiatives to achieve operational excellence in alignment with MSH’s strategy.

 

More Specifically:

Strategic Partnership and Consultation
  • Accountable for strategizing, planning, and executing initiatives related to global headcount growth.
  • Provide strategic guidance to business unit leaders by creating various workforce management scenarios and advising on the recommended path.
  • Coordinate annual and quarterly planning, as well as monthly updates and replans, with various stakeholders.
  • Act as the central coordinator and escalation contact for resource planning to minimize workforce imbalances.
  • Advise and consult with cross-functional teams on both long-term and short-term workforce strategies.
  • Make recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement and risk mitigation.

Workforce Analysis and Planning
  • Drive analysis and manage the overall project, country, regional, capability, and technical workforce planning.
  • Forecast and govern people performance metrics for a region, including utilization and non-billable time.
  • Understand and forecast the P&L impacts of any given plan, along with the associated risks and opportunities.
  • Recommend optimal business strategies based on historical performance, predictive analytics, and scenario-based analysis.

Tool Development and Monitoring
  • Develop knowledge bases by analyzing trends and business performance expectations.
  • Build and monitor tools and reports to enable the leadership team to make effective capacity decisions.
  • Monitor and track actual operations and performance to adjust and improve ongoing planning and performance.

Specific requirements for this role are:

Education and Experience:
  • A postgraduate education in a field of study closely related to the assigned responsibilities or equivalent experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience in Workforce Planning or a similar field, with demonstrable skills in financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and data analytics.
  • 12 years of progressively responsible experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills with strong capabilities in innovation, judgment, and conceptual thinking.
  • Results-driven with a proactive approach, consistently enhancing operational processes and procedures.
  • Effective problem solver who can address issues efficiently while maintaining flexibility, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Experience leading multiple large and strategic transformation projects simultaneously, collaborating with various partners to develop plans, analyses, and organizational change initiatives (including processes, tools, and techniques).
  • Skilled at managing multiple concurrent demands and effectively prioritizing responsibilities.
  • Ability to collaborate on large-scale projects within a matrixed organization and influence both internal and external partners.
  • Excellent presentation skills, capable of instilling confidence and empowering, engaging, and influencing others, including at the executive level.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders at all levels across geographies.
  • Advanced level knowledge in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
  • Innovative thinker who takes initiative and solves problems creatively.
  • Mission-driven and self-directed with passion, integrity, and a positive attitude.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to travel within the US and to countries where MSH or its donors operate.


 

The expected salary range for this position is: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 annually (U.S. locations only).
